Dr. Dirk Grupe, patent attorney since 2015 and professional representative before the European Patent Office since 2016, successfully represents his clients in patent law matters, in particular in application proceedings, as well as in trade mark and design law and in German and international patent litigation.

He studied physics, classical philology and history at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics. He obtained his diploma in physics in 2008 and his first state examination in physics, Latin and history in 2009. In 2013, he completed his doctorate at the Warburg Institute London, as a DAAD and AHRC scholarship holder. He has been working in the field of intellectual property since 2012 and joined the firm in 2021.

Dr. Dirk Grupe’s professional focus is on optics, communication technology, software and computer-implemented inventions, semiconductor technology, automotive engineering and medical technology.
